ELCC2201: Assignment 3 Paper and Creative Expression Fostering a Sense of Self through Creativity (Individual) Worth: 20% 1. Reflect back to your own early childhood. Examine the creative experiences you were exposed to and the experiences you enjoyed. How did others in your life (parents, teachers, siblings, peers etc.) foster or hinder your attempts at creatively expressing who you were, and who you are today? 2. Use your current knowledge of child development to explain how you will foster a sense of self in children using creative expressions. Will it be the same or different from your own childhood? Using the 2 criteria above, compare and explain in your paper. Research, prepare your answer and refer to theory in your response. Provide headings, examples, theory connections, quotes. 3. Using any means of expression (ex. Sculpture, drawing, dance, music, etc.) design something that captures how your sense of self has been fostered through creativity.You may submit a video if it is a performance or photos if you have created a sculpture or other art piece. This will be uploaded with your written portion You will submit a 3-4 page paper visual documentation of your creative expression. (photos or video with a written explanation of how your artwork or performance represents you as a creative being and your creative learning or journey). Assessments must adhere to the APA formatting guidelines set out in your Cites & Sources text and the Guidelines for Writing in the course outline. This exercise is worth 20% of your final mark. Papers that are missing a reference list or in-text citations will not be graded and all papers will be checked for academic dishonesty. Please submit this exercise to your instructor for assessment.
